Saturday 25 May will see one of Hearts, Aberdeen, Rangers or Celtic lift the Scottish Cup on its 150th anniversary with the showpiece final taking place, as always, at Hampden Park.

But will Brendan Rodgers’ first season back at the helm end with Celtic celebrating another league and cup double?

Will Callum McGregor be marking his third full season as Celtic captain with a third successive Premiership title? And will Joe Hart sign off his decorated career with a seventh trophy in Scottish football?

We’ll know the answers to all of these questions in just 10 games’ time as Celtic target a dream ending to what has at times been a challenging campaign.

Bringing Rodgers back was always going to bring its own challenges given the abrupt nature of his exit in 2019, and as the man himself has said several times this season, the only way to change opinions is by winning games of football.

By and large his side have done so this season, though not always in a way which has been pleasing on the eye.

The transition from Ange Postecoglou to Rodgers has been far more tumultuous that most of us would have hoped for and losing the Australian to Spurs was a move that caught all of us off guard.

In truth we probably still haven’t fully shaken off that particular hangover.

Add in the loss of Jota, Aaron Mooy and Carl Starfelt and the injury-enforced absences of key players such as Reo Hatate, McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers and you can see why it’s been such a rollercoaster season.

Despite all that, Celtic’s fate this season is still in our own hands.

We don’t need snookers, we don’t need favours, and with the right attitude and application Celtic will win the title for a third consecutive season.

The players will return to Lennoxtown in the coming days following the latest international break buoyed by the knowledge that they’re in full control of the outcome of this campaign.

Rodgers himself said recently that this is where the fun starts.

And on that note, let the final round of games begin.
