Kyogo Furuhashi was the man at Hampden once again with his double enough to ensure that Callum McGregor would be lifting the League Cup as Celtic Captain for the second successive season.
There had been a lot of talk in the build up to this one, but ultimately talk is cheap in football and it’s all about what you do on the park.
On that note Ange Postecoglou’s men stepped up when it mattered most and showed just why Celtic are the number one team in the country.
Kyogo will make all the headlines but this one was a real team effort with the defence playing just as important a part as our forward players over the 90 minutes.
Though Ange won’t say it out loud the win very much keeps the treble dream alive and we can now look forward with continuing confidence in what the rest of the season will bring.
