The Truly Bizarre Story of Celtic’s First Ever League Title Win | With Author Matthew Marr
/

The 9th of May this year will mark 130 years to the day since Celtic lifted their first ever Scottish League Title back in 1893.

And now, in his brilliant new book Matthew Marr has opened the door on a season in our long and illustrious history that few of us know too much about.

Matthew joined us in the studio along with fellow Celtic Author Matt Corr to discuss his latest addition to the catalogue of great Celtic writing, officially titled “The Bould Bhoys – Glory To Their Name. The Story of Celtic’s First League Title”

If you aren’t yet familiar with the tale of how Willie Maley, James Kelly, Dan Doyle and their team-mates led the club to title glory then you’re in for a fascinating insight into one of Celtic’s earliest successes.

It’s certainly one of the most unusual!

It’s a story of on field success, off-field hi-jinks, and even kidnappings, starring characters such as The Duke, The Wild Rover & “Sparrow” Flannagan.

Enjoy this episode with Matthew & Matt as they take us on an enjoyable trip down Celtic memory lane!

The book is available to purchase now in the following places:
