Celtic Exchange Weekly: Maeda Magic, Rodger’s Record & An Evident Lack Of Leadership

Daizen Maeda continues to puzzle and delight in equal measure with the Japanese frontman grabbing his first hat-trick in the Hoops during Sunday’s Scottish Cup victory over Livingston.

He was the man of the moment as Celtic took their place in the semi finals (eventually) where they’ll now face Aberdeen at Hampden Park.

For Brendan Rodgers his perfect Scottish Cup record continues, having now won all 15 games he’s managed in the competition.

Despite the win there was a notable absence in the heart of the Celtic side as both Callum McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers missed out through injury.

Whilst other have stepped up on occasion it’s clear just how important those two are in terms of the mindset and leadership they bring to proceedings.

Let’s hope they – along with Yang and Reo Hatate – are back in action sooner rather than later.
