A crowd of over 40,000 paid tribute to one club man James Forrest on Tuesday night as Celtic played out an entertaining testimonial game against Atletico Bilbao.
The Spaniard’s provided tough opposition in this final game of pre-season but it was the Hoops who came out on top thanks to goals on the night from Reo Hatate, Alexandro Bernabei and David Turnbull.
Brendan Rodgers – who himself was given a warm welcome back on his return to Celtic Park – now has some big calls to make ahead of Saturday’s league opener with Ross County.
Odin Thiago Holm, Yang, Turnbull and various others stepped up on the night, but most pleasing of all was the return of Cameron Carter-Vickers to the Celtic defence.
