Match Reaction: Celtic v Motherwell | Scottish Premiership | Sat 22nd April 2023

It was a rare off day for Celtic this afternoon as an uncharacteristically flat performance led to a frustrating stalemate with Motherwell at Celtic Park.

Despite dominating possession Ange Postecoglou’s men were missing a cutting edge in front of goal with Callum McGregor’s deflected strike all we had to show for our efforts on the day.

Ahead of this one the Bhoys had hit the back of the net an average of 3.19 per game across the league campaign to date, but we fell short of our own high standards on this occasion as Motherwell successfully stifled our approach.

However if any side is entitled to an off day then it’s this Celtic team who remain unbeaten since mid-September and who remain firmly on track to complete what would be an incredible domestic treble.

Ange and the players will now dust themselves off, learn the lessons from today and quickly switch focus to next week’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

Next Sunday can’t come soon enough!

In the meantime, Tino & Cush were on the mics at Celtic Park to bring you all the big talking points and match reaction from today’s clash.
