Celtic have set seriously high standards for themselves this season.
Standards that have resulted in the team securing back to back titles with 4 games to spare, and which have put us in the driving seat to secure a World Record 8th treble.
Which is why today’s result at Ibrox was all the more surprising and disappointing, as we’ve come to expect so much more from this Ange Postecoglou’s side than we witnessed today.
Fringe players Yuki Kobayashi, Alexandro Bernabei and Oh were all given an opportunity from the start, and though they’ll rightly be given further chances to impress it’s fair to say they fell short on this occasion.
They say in football you win or you learn and there’s no doubt that Ange will have learned a bit more about some players today as he continues to build a side to go and defend the trophy once again and to make headway in Europe.
In the bigger picture we’re in an enviable position, but football has a way of keeping you grounded and today was a stark reminder that there’s still work to be done.
Tino & James were on the mics shortly after the final whistle to provide their summary of today’s events.
