As far as pre season fixtures go this was an entertaining match up, with both sides displaying their intent to attack from the outset.
For Brendan Rodgers it was a first chance to see his side in action, though they’d have to do without new Bhoys Odin Thiago Holm. Marco Tilio, and a raft of injured players.
Daizen Maeda was the main man against his former side, grabbing a first half hat-trick, with countryman Reo Hatate also impressing.
As expected there was some rustiness at times, and of some concern may be a back four currently missing two key players in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston.
All in all a good exercise though and the manager will be pleased with the workrate and fitness of the players – but will he have learned anything he didn’t already know?
Tino & Mif were on the mics to bring you all the key talking points from this one.
