Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis grabbed a goal each to overcome Hearts as Celtic took advantage of results elsewhere to take an early lead in this season’s title race.
The team perhaps didn’t display the the free flowing we’ve come to expect under Ange Postecoglou, but at the same time it was a deserved victory and a result that sees us maintain our 100% start to the league campaign.
Hearts manager Robbie Neilson bemoaned some refereeing decisions post-match and in truth if he put as much focus on his teams approach to the game as he did to his complaints then they may just have fared a bit better on the day.
Elsewhere excitement is building as Celtic await confirmation of who we’ll face in this season’s Champions League group stages. The draw sees us return to European football’s top table alongside the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven and players and fans alike will be keeping a close eye on Thursday’s draw.
